TN Renaissance Festival at Castle Gwynn

Imagine skirting about in 16th Century England. Now foresee yourself really there, not make-believe. Tennessee can make that happen once a year. Not only are people who are working there entertaining in costuming, many people attending will be decked out in their own. You will see ladies in long gowns, Men in Kilts, you do not have to work there to wear the costumes. Understand you will be inspected at the entrance to keep everyone safe, swords, purses, diaper bags, etc… nothing skeevy, you will be respected.

Show your loyalty by obeying the RULES and following them out. Be chill and all will go well. You are there to have a sweet time. Remember, there will be children there so act your age. Can’t hold your Ale and be nice? Don’t drink. Adult and can be cool? Then have some brews where this Renaissance Festival takes on a whole new level of expression, creativity and professionalism.

This experience is literally stepping back into time, and it is magical. Pirates, Witches (or those who have been accused of) walking about, Trolls, Faeries hiding in the tree’s giggling sweetly, Jousting, FREE Castle Tours of the lovely Castle Gwynn, Artisans, Vendors, Jugglers, Musicians, Weapon and Tapestry Collections on display, Knights, Kings, Queens, Princes and Princesses, Comedy Shows, Dancing, Time period clothing, face painting, shops full of extraordinary wares, delicious foods for all diets, drinks for all, (MUST be 21 to purchase alcohol and you cannot leave the grounds with it) joyful time era music, games, rides, contests with prizes, a plethora of activities for the entire family and all ages will be delighted.

Travel to this fantasy at the Tennessee Renaissance Festival, where you’ll feel right at home. This years 2017 Renaissance Festival will be held May 6th – 7th – 13th – 14th – 20th – 21st – 27th – 28th and May 29th which will be on Memorial Day.

The festival hours are from 10 A.M. to 6 P.M. (CST) with FREE parking for everyone and FREE admission for any children 5 and under. You cannot argue with a great deal like that! Celebrating their 32nd year of this annual event, everyone will have a splendidly good day and evening.

To find this remarkable time traveling festival take Highway 96 between Franklin and Murfreesboro, TN. It is actually very easy to find. You can reach this destination easily from I-24, I-65, and I-840. Once near the location you will see the magnificent Castle standing tall atop the mountain at: 2124 New Castle Road, Arrington, TN, 37014. The Renaissance Festival is a mere 25 miles from Nashville and people from all over the Nation go to it year after year. Thirty-Two years of success has proven just how popular the 16th Century month long party truly is in Arrington, Tennessee.

There are some guidelines that need to be addressed. Pay attention and abide by the rules so that everyone enjoys their visit in safety.

NO Pets of any kind!
Swords must be sheathed, Arrow tips off.
A sense of PEACE must be shown and good behavior.
Masks CANNOT cover your face.
Firearms, real or otherwise, are NOT permitted.
You will be prosecuted if you are in possession of firearms.
There is a smoking area. ONLY smoke there including VAPES.
Do NOT toss cigarette butts onto the ground – KEEP it CLEAN!
Do not bring in your own food, drinks or coolers.

Tickets start selling in April and continue until May 2017. Buying tickets early will save you money. There is also a Senior Citizen and Military Service discount. Groups and Schools are given lower costs. You can also purchase passes for the weekend and for the season.

The Tennessee Renaissance Festival is a very affordable Springtime “Carnival” held in a time that has long past. Each weekend sports a theme. The Opening Weekend with additional discounts, Artisan and Crafts Weekend, Mothers Day, Pirate Invasion Weekend, and Celtic Weekend.
